Do you know what yours are?
Honesty, compassion, respect?
I believe the beginning of our journey in personal growth relies on the fundamental values we carry with us.
Values help define purpose in everything we do. They are the standards by which we live, guiding our behavior and decisions. They represent what is most important to us.
If you’re anything like me, unlearning toxic and unhealthy behaviors from your past, gauging your values and adjusting where needed is one of the foundational aspects for creating a life of fulfillment.
Our core values are non-negotiable principles that define our authentic identity, our purpose, and our culture.
When you have suffered from depression, trauma, ptsd, or any other life-altering impact, sometimes it’s hard to reflect on your beliefs. A lot of us fall victim to these pains and can’t seem to get back up because we don’t know where to start.
I’m here to lend you a hand and together we can start to reinvent ourselves. Here’s a list of values to ponder on:
- Family
- Confidence
- Integrity
- Self-Awareness
- Respect
- Humility
- Excellence
- Authenticity
- Innovation
- Open-Mindedness
- Empathy
- Love
- Honesty
- Forgiveness
- Fairness
- Creativity
- Responsibility
- Freedom
- Hard Work
- Community
- Self-Discipline
- Adventure
- Loyalty
- Kindness
- Gratitude
- Generosity
- Compassion
- Mindfulness
- Gratitude
- Health/ Nutrition
These are only the tip of the iceberg. I just want you to begin to cultivate the idea of what makes you you.
Maybe, you’re still unsure. That’s understandable. You’ve been living in survival mode for so long that you’ve lost your identity. It’s okay. Ask yourself this, “Who inspires you?” Identifying the traits you admire in others can reveal your own values and guide you in living a life that truly reflects how you feel inside.
Meeting people with the same values
People with similar values as you, fosters deep connections, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging. You’ll feel understood and supported, and can collaborate, grow and make a positive impact together.
Having mutual values is crucial and essential for success when searching for a partner, whether it’s romantic, business, or even friendship. It builds trust, creating a strong bond that helps you to navigate life’s challenges together.
People can have different backgrounds, interests, and personalities, but sharing mutual values is vital. They provide a common ground, promoting understanding, respect, and trust. When values align, relationships thrive and grow stronger.
